Fuel Pump + Fuel Pressure Regulator

Post by shiggz »

Hey guys..
So I'm in a bit of a dilemma / I need help with the FPR.

I ordered a Walbro 455lph fuel pump (don't ask why - but its easiest if i work with it), and was wondering if i could use that with an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator. If I can, what sort of regulator do I need, and how would i go about installing it? Its all mechanical, and no wiring is involved, but I would have to relocate the regulator to the firewall I'm guessing? And lastly, if I have to do that, how do i run new fuel lines to the existing lines?

Has anyone got any pictures of their aftermarket FPR install? I'm a little clueless about the whole connection side of it, regarding the fuel lines.
I'm guessing I have to remove all the existing lines, and run new lines (AN-6?) from the tank to the regulator then to the fuel rail. But how would I put new fittings on.. and which ones would i need :?

Yeah, eventually I plan on doing a 6a13tt swap. So while I need a fuel pump, I might as well upgrade the whole lot.

How do i go about this / replacing fuel lines and everything?

Bennoz, I had a look at your Fuel Filter Relocation thread, but all the pictures are dead, so I haven't got much out of it.. Pleasee help :P

No real point in doing it until you actually do the swap. Also a lot easier to get to the lines etc, with engine out.

So you can't actually fit an aftermarket FPR to the current fuel lines can you?

Because yeh in that case I'll have to order another fuel pump, to make it easier haha

You can, you just need a fuel rail adapter to replace the factory FPR.

Ah okay, have you got a FPR you'd recommend? Also is there a difference between a normal FPR and a rising rate FPR / which would I need?

This Fuel Rail Adapter will probably fit?: http://proflowgeelong.com.au/fuel-air/f ... ptors.html

And probably this FPR: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOMEI-Adjust ... xyQfJThzV-

Also since I'm not too sure on the installation, with the fuel rail adapter, will the FPR still fit under the bonnet?
