Would I be able to get away with 215/50/18 or will I have to drop down to 17? Really I'm after smoother ride and wondering whether they'll fit??

The Wheel and Tyre Thread

Post by bjk »

*Merged the tyre and wheel thread into here; some examples of what different sizes etc might look like. As per BJK's suggestion to sticky it, hopefully this might save a few "what would it look like/will it fit" questions. (didn't want to sticky another thread, so merge it is) - Yang

So we were rambling on Facebook and decided it might be worth making a thread dedicated to member's wheel and tyre combos. Will attempt to be as comprehensive as possible (depending of course on how many people contribute). A forlorn hope, perhaps, but try to keep the ramble down so the information is easy to access. If a mod could sticky it would also helpful.

Please provide as much information as you can first time! I'll start as a template.

----

Wheel name: Enkei RPF1
Diameter: 17"
Width: 9.0"
Offset: +22

Tyres: 235/45

Suspension:
Stock shocks
Tein lowered springs (I believe)
-2° rear camber

Body work:
Guard liner removed
All guards rolled

Issues:
Does scrub on the inner wheel well on hard turns. Also clips edges of front and rear fenders on hard cornering/bumps.

With 225/45 tyres and 1.0° rear camber.

Came across this article, it's probably the easiest thing I've read explaining what you can and can not do; so I thought I'd park it here.
