FTO V6 manual, clutch slave cylinder

Post by FTOgpx96 »

hey guys had my clutch slave cylinder die on me yesterday, and went looking for a new set up could get one so i went looking for a rebuild kit didnt have a genuine one here in australia so decided to try after market, again could get one for an FTO but have found out that the slave rebuild kit u get for a TE 2.4ltr mitsi magna suits the FTO nicely, on the old FTO one i only have 1 seal on the magna one u get 2 :) so yeah it will look different but it works better than the orginial

happy modding

*cringes*

Hate to tell ya, but it'll blow in a days time. Been there, done that.

Start scratching around for a complete slave replacement.

ah ok, i got this info from the guys at Eddys Wreckers, they did this for an FTO about 6 months back which they say to this day is still running with that in it, but we will see how it goes

id look for one in adelaide but there are none, already tried. and spare parts are a min 2 months from japan :(

so if you anyone with a new kit in stock, send me the details so if the one i put in goes south i can get another one asap as my fto is my only car and i need it for work

I should be able to get a genuine set ex Japan in a couple of weeks under normal circumstances (might be slightly longer over Christmas)

I know this is an old thread, but thanks for the info. Going to give the rebuild kit a go. I like the idea of 2 seals.

Bugger, wish I saw this before I ordered a rebuild kit. Oh well, I might just cancel the order. Always prefer a new one.
