the PFL bolts right up as it uses the same 130mm bolt space, FL uses 160mm so wont boult without a plate

OK, so the hubs you have these bolted to are FTO pre face lift?

I wasn't aware that the hubs were different? I know the GR brakes and GPX/GPvR brakes are different calipers and rotors, so maybe they have different hubs also, but GPX is also pre face lift?
Edit: Of course they're not, otherwise you wouldn't be able to upgrade GPX brakes on a GR :facepalm2:

Anyway, so the VR4 calipers bolt straight up to the FTO pre face lift hubs (130mm bolt spacing). And the VR4 rotors (294mm) then bolt straight on, correct offset etc. Have I got it right yet :?:

its the galants that are PFL and FL, fto didnt chage, just maybe fabric trim.
yes the vr4 calipers bolt up no problems with the 294mm rotors. could prob find you some as i have a few mates with vr4 galants

lol thanks but I've just spent $400 on a new set of Brembo rotors which should last me a while :)

More interested for future reference. If the VR4 pre facelift model calipers and rotors are a direct bolt on it's another upgrade option for the FTO, a step up from GPX brakes but not quite to the EVO Brembo level Ben has just installed, but much easier. It also possibly opens up a whole range of possible aftermarket bolt ons also. So very useful info, thank you :thumleft:

That is good to know!

Yeah, the hubs I used off the Evo had the 160mm bolt spacing.

I'm also now told the rear hubs off a 2wd 8th gen Galant will bolt to the rear, so I can use the Brembo rears. I'll get to that :lol:

Most of you saw this on FB yesterday, but finished up the repaint & new Brembo decals on the fronts 8)

Here's the DIY on how to fit rear Brembos.

I'm not sure why use the Galant back plate when you could use the entire assembly off the Evo, but anyways..

More FYI. One of the hubs I've got has worn splines on the inside, giving me a 'clang' when I release the clutch in a hurry, so I started researching the hubs & what replacements are available.

As per usual, I have to replace the whole f@cking wheel bearing assembly... of which Chris Meek challenged me to find for any less than $300 bucks.

I do agree.
Reminds me of my Walbro fuel pump bargain.
Low and behold it gave out after a month of barely any use.

But can't hurt to try...

Even with postage it's still a lot cheaper than the others.

Freight out of the US was f**king expensive as usual ($110) but even then, its still works out at $110 per side. Cheaper than eBay by 80 bucks.

Just ordered some lightweight rotors 8)

Lightest ones on the market, the 2 piece Baer EradiSpeed-Plus rotors.

To give some comparative weight numbers per rotor:
Stock rotors - 9.7kg
DBA 5000 - 8.4kg
Girodisc 2pc - 8.25kg
Project Mu SCR-Pro - 8.16kg
Baer Eradispeed - 7kg

So that's almost 3kgs of rotating mass removed from each side...

$480 for the pair out of the US. Just waiting on what will no doubt be a hideous freight cost :lol: Thinking it'll be around the $250 mark.

I have also recently done the same swap on my mirage with FTO hubs. The 294mm setup from the legnum/galant VR4 (6A13TT) 'Pre-facelifts' are a direct bolt on to the FTO hub. No mods required. Also interestingly, the inner caliper is the same as the standard FTO one and uses the same brake pads. Which worked out great for me because I retained my relatively new EBC Reds :D
