Leads

Post by Daniel2019 »

One of my leads is fucked and I may as well upgrade the set anyway,

What is the difference between the Magnecor 8ms here - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Magnecor-8mm ... 5d47d3fd4d

and KV85 here - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Magnecor-KV8 ... 1e853ab81b

(aside from the color)

Is there a place to get them cheaper, should I get something else, etc.

You do realise magnecor Australia sell them for about $120?! Get off your arse because you will be surprised what's available.

Yup, the Magnecor guy is at Parramatta. Just be careful with him though, he's fucked up the lengths on me before. Best take your old set in.

Got an address or email/business name? I couldn't find any Magnecor Australia distributors except one in Victoria on the .com site.

Thanks guys.

Well how bout that, he's no longer listed. Looks like they got a new distributor - http://www.performanceignition.com.au/

Performance ignition are really good, they used to be called Scorcher. Got one of their dizzys in my Mini.

I'm pretty sure that's where I went. The leads fit fine on mine. Took a day to get them in.

That's where I went as well, in 2004.

*laughs* and Papaya, I did a search on my post history trying to find a part number / model number and it appears we were having some fun discussion how wasted spark systems worked and what leads we were replacing.

I didn't end up getting a model number from memory because performanceignition cut the cables to length and add the boots required to connect to the plug and coil pack.
From memory, you just need to call them up and say you need a set of leads made up for an FTO and they should be able to take it from there, they should have the specs.

Mind you it's been a decade since I did that =P (damn)

Yes but the clincher was that non-mivec has different lengths listed compared to mivec believe it or not. That's where he got confused on me. Ended up with one too short.
