Gearbox problem

Post by fto96 »

So recently i smashed the diff in my manual box on my gpx soo the question is what should i do some opinions would be awsome.

1. rebuild my gearbox.... only problem will a gearbox reco place be able to find parts for a jap import??

2.buy a 2nd hand box with warranty (if i do this i will be buying one with lsd) , do the splines mirror each other? do i have to change hubs? if so cant i just use my old cv on one end?

3.cj4a gearbox simply for the shorter ratios. i would love to do this but not enough info about it, what do i need to do this? how strong is this gearbox will it handle the torque?

Depending on how badly you fucked the diff, just rebuild it. All the bits inside are generic Mitsi bits.

If it's bad & sent cogs all through the gears Detonationbustedfuckedittoblerone style, get a second hand one, reco it & put a LSD in it. You'll have trouble find one at a wrecker with a limo it.
