Catback help!!

Post by Jasonp »

So I'm after a catback system for my FTO and thought I'd go grab a couple of quotes from some places here in Melbourne. The first place I went to (dandy exhausts) quoted me $900 for 2.5" s/s using the stock muffler... :spew: <----- my reaction was just that, but he also quoted me $450 using mild steel but the stock muffler again which wasn't too bad. Second place I went to was Mr.Muffler, in Dandenong again, and he told me he doesn't even want to work on these cars as they aren't worth it apparently.
So not feeling to good at this stage I decided to broaden my search from the usual gumtree/ebay/ftoaus and came across a couple of UK sites such as Camskill and Japspeed. Camskill have got the mongoose system and was wanting to know if anyone has/had this on their FTO. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?show=15812 Considering buying it as its only $675 (I hope) including postage but just want to know someone's opinion on them first. I've seen videos on youtube of them and they sound ok.
Other sites like Japspeed and dcperformance seem to be out of stock.

Right now I'm after any help, so if you know a site that sells catbacks that sound nice, or someone in Aus that is willing to post one, or even someone in Melbourne that makes catbacks for not so ridiculous prices let me know!! :lawso:

Btw not too sure if this post belongs in this section of the forum (didn't know where else to put it) so moderators feel free to move it :)

Jesus, I'd be more than happy to spend 720 on a s/s catback in melb or 1200 for a full exhaust! And Sahin, you're just lucky lol

Thinking of just getting a mild steel catback with resonator delete and using the stock muffler. Thoughts? And I do want it to be pretty loud with a deep note. Will this do it?

Or should I just get a big ass cannon and be done with it

That is all dependant on how much money he owed you initially. Because you did, technically still pay for them through money lost, however you recovered your loss through repossessed items. So I call BS to you getting them for free

The receipt for my exhaust came with the car... Everlast Mufflers did it for $940, and it's mandrel-bent stainless steel w/ magnaflow cat.

That's unbelievably cheap. Camskill can't send a 5kg box for less than $60 i would be very surprised if a whole exhaust will be $177.
