What are my options for footwell lighting?

Post by crosso »

I'd like to install some LED strips in my footwells, to turn on when I open the door but also to have a switch to turn them on or off with the doors closed.
I was thinking of connecting to the rear view mirror lights since they turn on when you open the door, but I'm not sure if a switch would allow me to turn them on when the doors are closed.

Also I noticed the door guards or whatever they're called, the FTO logo on them sometimes lights up (a blue/teal colour) but I figured mine have dodgy wiring somewhere since they don't always work

Any help and/or suggestions is greatly appreciated

I can help you out with that, I have installed them in my car and in ZFL45H1's car.

If you want I can give you a list of parts and I come around to your place or you come around to mine and we can install them.

I have mine wired to the map lights but you can also install a relay and use a switch with it also. A wireless switch with a remote is also possible.

Sure, and make sure you get all the wiring in the photo.
