I have a regular single din head unit behind the tab. The tablet plugs into the AUX port on the head unit and I have a IR repeater set up in the air con vent to control the head unit with a remote.

8O sounds like quite the setup, also kinda expensive, might just stick with the double din and nothing else. much simpler for a scrub like me

i relocated my headunit to the glovebox, i think vectose kept his behind the tablet.

relocating the headunit is easy, just need to extend your harness, buy a antenna extender and the audio cables.

Tablet was $200 and the head unit I already had. But you can use any cheap head unit. IR repeater is $5

Had an eonon as my previous head unit. Tons of feature, lasted good number of years. Build quality is decent as well.
