Sorry, you misunderstood. The fibreglasser didnt hate veilside. He hates Carmate..... Not a fan of Veilside myself, but that is not the point I was trying to make (each to their own). In my experience, a good percentage of Carmates products dont fit without serious manipulation.

I was referring to Kiz's scrap yard comment, not yours :) I'm fully aware of the majority preference regarding Veilside on the board here

Aftermarket stuff on our FTO's is such a PITA. But I guess that comes with having such a cool car.

I have a carmate kit on my Celica the front bar was a terrible fit but with the right person you can make it fit perfect my uncle was a panel beater so I was able to get him to make it perfect for me but I don't how much it would cost to get a professional to do it

I bought my entire VS kit off ebay for $750 including postage a while ago - can't find the exact same one anymore though. It doesn't fit great, but no one notices unless I point it out. I can't imagine carmate being worse seeing as I only paid $750 for mine, but then again - I've heard nothing but bad about carmate.

My old panel beater used to buy kits from SSV and he always talked about how great their kits are as they direct bolt on and fit perfectly, they only sell the VS front bar though as far as I know, but give them a call and find out.

It's all a gamble, good luck!
