Seems to be a mould of the original bonnet line?

And the man wins a prize. Took a mould of the original bonnet and got 2 copies made. Cut one in half and joined to the outside edge of the other. Mounted into a metal bonnet with the skin cut out.

Sorry, wasnt really clear. All I took a mould of was the centre section of the bonnet skin so I could make the insert. Needed to get 2 copies made to make the insert. While making the 2nd copy, the plaster of paris mould fell apart. The bonnet im inserting the vent into is an OEM steel one.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Ive been looking at the hole in the bonnet for at least 12 months wondering how I was going to make the vent. Three weeks ago decided F@#k it, the fibreglasser is closing down and it wont get finsihed by itself. Will have it finished for the bonfire.

              Some more progress:

At the moment, the vent isnt built into the bonnet (slides into place atm). Have roughened up the front ready to fibreglass it.

Done some work on the opening at the back:

And some mesh for the vent:

              Next job. Fibreglass vent in.
