EVO 6.5 seats

Post by Corey95 »

Posted in here because it's probably a stupid question.... but?
How hard will it be to modify the rails to suit/fit the evo 6.5 Tommy Makinen Edition seats, and secondly has anyone sat in these seats before?

Best bet is to use the FTO rails ...

Get a plank of solid steel, and use as an adapter plate. So, 2 holes where the FTO bolt goes, and 2 holes where the Recaro seat is meant to bolt to.

I had to do this to my Sonata when I put Recaro's in it. I have Recaro VI seats in my Evo III/Gsr. A very comfortable seat. Love 'em to bits...
I just had to add it ......

Recaros in a Sonata?

As for comfort, Recaro seats are generally very comfortable. Having used DC2R seats, I could not imagine a more comfortable bucket seat

What do you think my Evo engine was in previously.

The Sonata used a G4CP engine which was a design bought off Mitsubishi. The 4G63. That engine bay had a lot of room to conceal the intercooler, and was putting out around 240kw at the front on 20psi.

I had to go to AWD platform as the drivetrain couldn't take it. I was going to convert the Sonata to AWD, but opportunity lead me down a different path.

But the satisfaction of munching WRX's (from a rolling start) and smashing R32 GTS-T's was amazing. And being able to park anywhere, not fet picked on by cops, and sleeper factor was awesome.

Never judge a book by its cover my friend..

No.. sleeper haha.

It would destroy pretty much anything in a straight line. Wouldn't be driveable around a track haha.

Amazingly well built engine, not even a commodore motor. Couple of mahoosive turbos and the engine to handle huge amounts of boost.

Does engine swap. Puts two fuel pumps in, still can't get enough fuel through. Has to de-tune to 600hp.

"Still a piece of sh*t because its a commodore"

Well done

its the same as people who don't know about FTO's and say "it's *~delightful!~*" "worthless piece of sh*t"
And I heard this one the other day "worst looking and performing car for it's price ever"

Maybe I was a bit overly enthusiastic with the LOL button :)
I think there were a few Excels too with 4G63s.
When did you own that car?

A fair few 4G63 Excels.. Mew and old shape..

Owned the Sonata brand new from 97, and it would have had the Evo transplant around the naughty's some time. I think I finished it in about 03.. When I bought my bikes..
I just had to add it ......
