I have some news...

Post by PHIL069 »

...and this time it's great news

Something that Sue and I thought would never happen in our lives.

Sue and I have just been pre-approved for a home loan.
It's a loan for the purchase of land and construction of a new home.

We have already been looking at land and homes.
We have chosen this house... http://www.sarahhomes.com.au/h_4Elindsay.php
But with the upgrades we want, power/water connections, sewer sepage tank installed it comes to approx $160k.

We are looking at acreages from 2.5 to 6 acres, hoping to purchase in the towns of Nelshaby or Napperby.
Both these towns are in the foothills of the Southern Flinders Ranges and boast views of the Flinders Ranges and the Spencer Gulf.

That's amazing news, Phil! Had a look at the house you're wanting to get built and it's very nice 8)

Looks like we know where our SA piss-ups/trophy presentations will be from now on

can have this bonfire later in the year say "september"?
Money can't buy happiness, but it can help you look for it quicker, in a convertible.

We are pretty excited.

A FTO get together of some sort will be organised at some stage.
We are probably looking at about 10-12 months before the house would be built and ready to move into.

@ Kiz, Very funny...You put all the sheds at the front door  and having an acreage I'm sure the shed/s would be a bit further away from the house anyway
(If we can afford some sheds  )

@ Danielson, You know you can come and visit anytime ;)

@ Everyone, Thanks :D

Haha! Phil's place was our usual meet stop before entering Sydney, we just need a liiiitle bit of detour I guess. :)

We purchased our acreage today

2.5 acres with views of the Flinders Ranges out the back and views of Spencer Gulf out the front.
It was selling for $85k, we offered $60k, they came back with a counter offer of............
$65k 8O :o :P 8) :D
So we purchased it for $65k.
Who says low balling doesn't pay ;)

This is the block...
http://www.realestate.com.au/property-r ... by-2818719

The land has power available right in front and has a water meter already installed.
We intend on building our house 100 meters back from the street.
This means we will be connecting three phase power due to the distance of connection.
Power connection quotes so far...
First quote = $9k
Second quote = $5k
