Have to mention that the droplinks are different depending on the type of FTO
GR, GS, GPX, GPvR... Please check the following link to know which ones you need..
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b0s10p0

If you there are also lowered height droplinks as well

If you don't know which ones you need, just let me know what version FTO you have & whether it needs lowered or standard height droplinks.

LSD = $474.57 AUD (Again will have to confirm that they will do the Group Buy Discount on this item & that I've calculated the price correctly.)

**EDIT** http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php? ... 11s12p7030

That seems to be a very decent price compared with what i've seen them before... maybe a little too decent...

I want one too, but I will have to check my budget & whether I need one... Ben? i need some help with it too ;) My car is 'NA'

Haha, you guys should know not to look at the Camskill website for too long.... I end up dribbling on my keyboard

Couple of things on those bits your looking at:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Magnecor leads are available in Aus from the Magnecor dealer. I paid about $120 for a set about 2 years ago. The benefit of them is to ensure the full power of the spark gets to the plug without interuption. To me, its one of those things I always buy for any car I own. They would be especially worthwhile for your turbo Sam.

To buy them here, just go to the Thundercords site & give them a ring http://www.magnecor.com.au/ . I would also recommend you buy them locally as neither Magnecor Aus or Magnecor UK can get the bloody lengths right first time... I was out there on 3 occasions to get it right... manifold off every time. Also, as mentioned, be very specific with your engine type - GR or GPX as they are very different lengths for mivec vs non mivec. Also note we have done a Group Buy on these leads before. You might just be able to do another one through the same company:

http://www.ftoaustralia.com/modules.php ... pic&t=8012

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being a regular reader of the UK FTO site, I've heard good things about those braided brake lines, but....

To be legal in Aus, they have to be ADR approved & marked (stamped) accordingly. Those ones are not marked as such... much like the APP braided lines from Perfect Run.

http://www.perfectrun.com.au/performanc ... keline.htm

I ended up with a non marked set like that & had to take them down to Enzed to be pressure tested & then they stamped them for me. The trouble I went to to do it, it worked out cheaper to just have Enzed make me a set from scratch.

None the less I highly recommend braided lines. As some may have read on my last track outing, I destroyed many parts of the car on the day but I couldnt kill the brakes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That limo diff is interesting, I've not seen that on their site before. I'll send them a mail with some questions on it - as its a good $500 cheaper than any alternatives you can buy locally.

There a number of different types & brands available for the FTO. To my way of thinking the one that came in the GPvRs was the best for street use. Its a Viscous type & barely noticeable on the road. Where as some of the Kaze or Cusco clutch types are an absolute ass on the road.... as noisy & clunky as buggery. Makes everyday driving a nightmare - yet brilliant for the track.

Will let you know what they say about it

I misread the LSD info on the site, as Sam pointed out, looks like it is an upgrade kit, so probably have to have a standard LSD to begin with which is why it seemed so cheap..

Thanks for all the info :) Bloody Legend!!!

I'm ashamed to say I don't know if I'm lowered or not... Back on dry land in 4 days, how do I find out when I get home? Put up a pic? Suspension is my black spot I'm afraid - all I know is I want that bloody knocking to stop!
If you can't dazzle them with dexterity, baffle them with bull...

Where is the knocking coming from? Droplinks & bushes would be your best bet for getting rid of suspect noises. If you have a Fulcrum Suspensions place nearby www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au take it down & get a free suspension check done, otherwise get it booked into pedders for the $14 checkup (but don't get the work done by Pedders)

Taken it in to the local Mitsi garage a few times. They've replaced the bushes, and say they can't find anything wrong. :? Hoping these puppies will do the trick.

--------------

What about getting new swaybar bushes as well whilst we are at it? It would make sense to change them at the same time. Has anyone purchased them locally to compare pricing?

edit. Has anyone thought about purchasing from Kempys NZ? My dealings with them have been excellent. Their prices were a lot cheaper then Oz prices last time I purchased some items.

I am happy to email them if someone can supply me with the Droplink part numbers off caps?

Mike
