i called the RTA in canberra (cus they handel all this stuff, not the police they just hand out htings that make you go to the rta for a test) and they told me it wasnt legal in the ACT

as for cost.... i gotta consider the cost of a woping fine for a cf one :P + it wont cost 300 to paint a bonnet!

Like Slither said, check with your insurance company first, as they only need the smallest reason to void your coverage and not pay out

Hey Steve, what other styles can UAS do besides the AB and EVO 5 bonnets?

I'm interested in a FPR one but always fancied the Creative Sports look.

Can this be done?

Thanks.

oh and just an idea, do you think we can get the stock bonnet laminated in CF? im guessing it would be substantially cheaper as you wont need to worry bout the mold, and u would only need 1 or 2 layers of CF on top of the bonnet.. im sure it would be an option for those who are worried about getting a defect (and only want the CF aesthetically... (like me) :?
i understand it defeats the purpose of weight reduction though

hey guys
to give u an idea about the price for the different styles of cf bonnets
in SRS, they sell cf bonnet OEM style for 1.1k
for evo style its 1.2k
so basically...i would pay an extra 100 for the evo style
i mean...it does make it look a bit more hard core :)
afterall i'm sure al of us are not really buying cf for "weight reduction"
not like we're hardcore racers
we use it for style and the "rareness(if there is such a word"
its a nice cosmetic for your second wife :)
cheers !

So mikey if we can get an engineer's cert then will vicroads still list it as illegal?? plus from what ive read u'd have to get the car inspected by vicroads for it to b roadworthy anyway

On a side note i contacted my insurance company (just cars) about insuring the cf bonnet and they said that it would not be covered but if i did get one i would have to let them know as it would still b listed as a modification on my insurance, so if u don't tell your insurance company then chances r u wont get a pay out if u have an accident!!

Remember if the bonnet is not covered by insurance, that they don't have to pay out on any damage caused by that bonnet. This gives them a point to argue as they could say that the bonnet did not crumple like a normal bonnet would and not pay out or if they do, then pay out a greatly reduced amount.
