EOI: DBA Rotors Group Buy

Post by shadowarrior »

I spoke to the DBA guys yesterday and have managed to get a group buy organized for rotors.

It's for the 4000 series HD Cross drilled model. DBA4425XS Front and DBA4547XS Rear.
to suit 9/94 - 9/97 Mitsubishi FTO 2.0L V6 Mivec w/ Front Vented Rotors (276mm x 24mm) & Rear Solid Rotors (260mm x 10mm)
http://www.dba.com.au/products/street-heavey-duty/

I know the cross drilled rotors are a no-go for hard/performance driving. But IMO they are a good upgrade for general street use from the stock ones we have. (Someone can correct me here...)

They only have limited numbers available (5 pairs front and 2 pairs rear) and are selling them for $180 pair (front or rear...so that's $360 for front and rear pairs together) if I can get the numbers of total 5 front pairs and total 2 rear pairs purchase.

The rotors are marked 'non returnable' so we have to make sure these rotors fit our cars.

I am also trying to get DBA to have a group buy option for the slotted T2 or T3 (4000 series) rotors. Will let you guys know if that works out as well, but as of now I only have the Cross drill slotted ones sanctioned.

So far I have put my name down as interested for a front pair (don't think I will see any improvement on the rear from the stock ones we have). Anybody else keen on these?
(or are the cross drilled worth the purchase or should we just go slotted instead?)

You should see the grooves i've made myself in the disk

GR discs on GPX?!?!?! 8O You definitely need one of these :P

Hey Bennoz, is it worth upgrading the rear rotors? I am guessing the braking for the FTO is (F:R%=60:40%)? Would we see any considerable difference from the stock rears we have?

I reckon its closer to F70:R30 mate. I've got the same set of rears discs on the car that came with it, the factory ones...

Haha,

Was looking at a group buy on the Merc forums for coilovers, no price, but an EOI also.
Brain farted badly for a second.
