The only thing I had trouble accessing was a bolt on the rear which is along the bottom of the stock headers and it was difficult because I couldnt get a socket in there because it was angled awkwardly.. eventually came off with an open ended spanner and the leaking oil helped get it off

That bolt may be a bit of a PITA if the engine's in the car, but apart from that it was simple.
I fix cars.

LOL you guys a crazy i should fly one of you over to do my engine conversion one day..........

any who got a reply from David from RPW
Our price of $550 is already a discounted price for the systems so I doubt
they will do any better :) You may want to mention this to the guys doing
the group buy, as our units are the only ones which are remachined after
they are purchased to be machined flat on the flange plates and de burred on
the inside of the headers.

Ours were manufactured as a direct fitment for us so no modifications
required for fitment onto the vehicle.

So yes, I do not believe you will find a better deal on the group buy
compared to what we offer. Because we purchase our headers in bulk, we are
already providing the equivalent of a group buy discount already.

That $550 is after you send them back your stock headers....else it's $200 extra. Says on their website. AFAIK (Correct me if am wrong) Hurricane's fit straight to the Y pipes as well, without any needed modifications.
And, if their unit price is $550 (after taking the stock headers from us) I question the statement that the $550 is their wholesale/manufacturing cost without any profit margin. A group buy should influence them to trade off their profit margin a little in exchange of a bulk purchase. So, meh! :)

Ok just got back after having a chat with hurricane, they will do the extractors AND engine pipe for $690 pickup.
So if every one is happy with that price we can get it going.
When every one is ready to go then all money will be rounded up and the order put in.

I am happy to pick them all up and despatch them from my place if need be.

750 if dont sent your headers back? lol...
And 690 for pipes that will bolt up to the stock y pipe? Yea gonna have to pull out of this one. Rather pipes that are longer to fit on a custom y pipe like rpws.

These come with the y pipe as well, so you don't use your one on the car.

Sidds said they fit straight to the pipes, I addumed he meant ours as there was no mention of a supplied pipe.
Either or I'm out. Not going to push my budget for undiscounted prices :(

Sounds about right. Last time I checked they quoted me $700 ish for the headers. So they are including the pipe along with it as well now.
Back to saving some moolah! :)

I was going to stay out of posting on this group buy but may as well hop on due to the sheer amount of mis - information that has been declared, especially about our products.

So heres to some clarification

1 - We have never demanded the return of stock headers. I don't have the faintest clue where this information was derived from, and it has certainly not been listed on our website. Feel free to copy and qoute where ever this may be stated :P

2 - Our systems include the two headers and Y Pipe and is a bolt on system. The headers will not fit up to the standard Y Pipe due to the design and length

3 - Our systems are MANAFACTED by Hurricane for us. We purchase in bulk from them and have an agreement with them because they make there designs for the Mitsubishi vehicles alongside our designs - Ie we tell them how we want them made. The majority of our systems have been made by Liverpool for many years - until recently where some of the later model vehicles we have moved to stainless steel designs.

4 - the current pricing on our website is $550.00 incl GST. This has been like this for several months. The main reason being we have around 7 sets in stock and movement was slow so we dropped the price. Once the existing units are sold, we would more than likely be moving back to the normal retail pricing.

5 - If the club wanted to organise a group buy with ourselves, then we would be able to provide them at pricing of around $600 - $620.00 per unit plus freight for any sets other than the first 7 we already have in stock which are priced at $550.00, as I can't very well go and hike the price on those first 7 since they are already discounted so heavily.

6 - I would like to re-iterate our untis are also faced and de burred. If you purchase a set direct from Liverpool, go place a straight edge across the flange face and you will find them bent like a banana. These will immediately leak on the gasket face, and you don't want to be pulling them off again later. We have a special machine just for facing all the extractor systems we have made for us so that we don't have this issue. This is not limited to liverpool, we have seen the same problem with all brands as when they weld them, even in a jig, the manifold flanges all bend and buckle once they are taken out of the jig.

I hope that clears up some misunderstandings and gets everything cleared up.

hmm so you drop the price since there is no demand for them, then as soon as you get a bulk order happening you up the price $70?
