As far as I can gather, I need to pay this Australian shipping company the associated costs of them receiving the shipment. Which is broken down on the .pdf above. Next is the customs clearance which I need to get in contact with a company to inspect and clear the shipment?

What a head f**k!
can you give them a buzz and find out exactly what you need?
+1
I'm assuming we're all gonna split this anyway but it's the lump of cash for right now that's the issue right?
What they're asking you really isn't defined...definitely try calling I'd say.

Running updates: As the package has a value of $600, we might avoid a customs brokerage fee as I'll be able to lodge it myself. I'm now calling customs to confirm.

It is also fine for me to collect next wednesday when I get paid as we get 3 days from today, plus 3-4 unpacking days then 3 days grace.

I'll update after the customs call.

Sweet, I'm hoping we won't be hit with customs fees, as ours is marked as $200 USD.

Customs have said that we don't need to lodge a full declaration through a broker it's more of a partial assessment. This requires a vast knowledge of the customs procedures and they customs dude recommended I call around some SAC reporters in Melbourne. They carry a fee ranging from $80 - $100 for the reporting. I'll call up and see what the deal is.

Also, the customs guy said that if it was sent air fright at a higher price we would have avoided this extra $450 in fees :| as you don't need to get all these clearances and other port fees.

FUN AND GAMES.

True.

I've got a SAC reporter who charges $90. I'm going with that. I'll just supply him with the details and he takes care of the rest.

Update time,

I've paid all the associated costs with the shipping company down here in Melbourne.

It came to $422.24 inc the SAC assessment fee which was $90. If anyone wants proof ill PM it to you.

The next massive issue is that the Chinese company hasn't paid the Chinese shippers their fee so the Melbourne company will nt release the cargo until the chinese company who made the spoilers pays up.

We have until the 15th to get it sorted or I'll be charged $125 a day in storage fees. This is getting f**king ridiculous really if I get charged storage costs for the chinese idiots being unable to pay an invoice im not going to be happy.

Tl; dr The Chinese need to pay their bills or we get burned.

Ffs!!! :|
Someone get on the phone and call the Chinese manufacturers...tell them clearly about the storage fees etc and you will not be paying anything extra for their delay.

We have problems like that all the time at work...

At the end of the day, it is us chasing the manufacturer and threatening to charge them for the storage fee's + calls + our time spent chasing it ..

Sif you would have seen any of the wheels anyway ... He would have just taken your cash, and probably not even imported anything.. The shipping boat would have mysteriously sank ... And it wouldn't be the freighters responsibility to refund everyone in the group buy ...
I just had to add it ......
