Head/ Helmet room

Post by RallyMad »

Just thought I'd ask anyone else that is around 6 foot how they go with helmets and their cars. I went to the drags last night and found I had to lay the chair back far enough that I wouldn't be able to comfortably reach the top of the wheel on a race track. Was not an issue for drag racing of course. But am concerned now as I want to do track days.

Am just hoping it is my helmet. It's a cheaper HJC helmet I think more meant for scooters. Would I be right in thinking that a more expensive helmet more for car racing may not be as big in the top and may help me to fix this problem?

Yeah, I think it is the helmet. Only cost me $150. I'm just 6 foot and found in my normal driving position I couldn't even get my head up. The roof was in the way. Will have to look into a better helmet then. NO worries thanks all.
