Dyno results and modifications

Post by Benedict_XIII »

I was wondering if anyone that had done a dyno and would like to list there results and what mods were on the car at the time this would be good to give people like me if certain mods are worth it or not and see what the fto can do what its potential is

Here's the Dyno printout from my GPX.

It's stock standard so should be a good guideline for the increase in performance given by modifications.

My 1995 GPX (mivec) pulled 111.9 kw at the front wheels.

These are the mods done to it:

-uas air filter kit with heat shields (not quite a cai)
-high flow cat / sports exhaust with STOCK extractors

And thats it, got it dynoed with tyres at 42psi using caltex vortex98 fuel.

Just a note for people in general.

Don't be bummed if your car doesn't pull similar power numbers to others. There is so many external factors that effect dyno's that it is pretty pointless to compare different cars in different parts of the courntry. let alone the same car 6 months on. Some people are even still a little prejudeced to dyno numbers when a standard run is taken then another run after a modification is fitted. Even a few degrees of air temp difference can effect thes outputs. Especially when we are comparing with 10kw's of each other due to the limited power of our cars.
