WTAC 2011 Results

Post by Taz »

For those of you that are curious, time attack this year was crazy!
Eiji "Tarzan" Yamada once again putting on a top show and taking the top spot with a staggering 1.28.851 with the Americans in sierra sierra coming a close second with 1.29.024 just .173 behind, and following behind on 1.30.501, the boys at garage revolution and the awesome rx7. Once again podium is jap,America, jap!
For those aware of the eastern creek raceway will know how tough a 1.28 is to get, and how big it is to break the 1.30 barrier!
A full list of times and stats can be found on
www.worldtimeattack.com
the tectaloy drift challenge was mad also, with performances by beau yates and mad mike in his insane quad rotor rx7 Machine! Highly recommended next year for wverybody who can attend.

Haha, yea although there was still PLENTY of showgirls you just had to look around, there were girls for basically every sponsor there
If i had to vote, it would be close between the royal purple chicks and the recaro chicks
Although it would be nice to see some older show girls, makes you feel guilty staring at some 16yr old looking chicks ass

Yea i had a crack, was at the bottom of the first page, and by that time a low 53 was already posted. Only managed a 54 on my lap which got me second at the time, i assume i was beaten cause i never heard from them. Setup was really nice but 4 laps aint enough to get use to the car they had with

A 1:28 on R spec tyres is a very very very fast lap!

That said though I'd expect all the tyres they were using would be buffed, so almost running a slick anyway

did not see any of the tyres being buffed but maybe i;ve missed the process. but as usual, they do get a 'warm up' lap before doing a proper lap.

Hey Taz, my mate actually won the 1st prize for Friday. He got 52.994sec at noon and held the record for the next 3hours. until Felipe broke it by a wisker. Then my mate went for another go at 5pm and beat him at 52.72sec and took the 1st prize for Friday.

I got a free bottle of Motul Turbolight 4100 from him....lolol. what a lucky day!!!

They'd definitely be running a brand new set of buffed tyres every time they hit the track. There'd be too much movement in the treads at those speeds not to.

To put that time in perspective, that's faster than the National Sports Sedans lap record, set on full racing slicks! Also faster than V8 Supercars lap record, again set on full race slicks.

Ben, you should enter your FTO next year. U'd have to remove the NOS, but with decent tyres and a bit of light weighting I reckon it'd be good for mid to low 1:40's!
