Bathurst Motor Festival Easter 2013

Post by Shane001 »

My annual pilgrimage to the Mountain is on again this Easter :D
http://bathurstmotorfestival.com.au/

Easter is early this year, March 29 to 31, which would be fine except the racecar currently has no engine 8O

Hopefully the engine will be back in and running next weekend, then off to WP for a shakedown and then to the dyno for a tune, then hopefully all good to race 8)

If anyone wants to come out for the weekend it is a great weekend of motorsport, and camping trackside is cheap.

This may be your last opportunity to see an FTO race at the mountain 8O but more on that after Easter ;)

We have a working engine again :D

Finally got the replacement engine all hooked up and running on the weekend. Took it down to WP for a run yesterday, didn't break any lap records but the engine appears to be good. No unusual noises and bonus... no oil leaks

So now I just need to have it tuned on the dyno and we're good to go racing 8)

Well we're almost all packed ready to go, just gotta load the racecar on the trailer tomorrow.

Looks like being a big weekend, nearly 50 cars in Prod Sports including a Lamborghini Gallardo, couple of Moslers, lots of GT Porsches, a Corvette, a Ginetta, a GT40 replica, a Dodge Viper, lots of MX5's and my humble FTO :)

Other categories racing include Formula 3, Formula Vee, Group N Touring Cars, Production Touring, most with big starting grids!

If anyone wants to get a motorsport fix for the weekend, come on out and say hi. Entry is by bank note donation to Legacy, the official charity for the event. I'm currently in garage 36 but not hard to find, the only FTO racing this weekend :)
