I did this about 20 times...
But it stops, leaving a gap between the block and housing of about a cm..
Because nothing is faster than a p plater in a commodore.....
except maybe a p plater on a unicorn

Just pull the box in with bolts :P

Jks dont do that.

Absolutely jiggle the absolute f**king sh*t out of it to get it to slide in and put one bolt in lightly to assist you.

But why does it say to go to 44nm In the guide and a few other people have mentioned it, when I did a search...
Are you sure that that's what the manual reads?
.
hmmm, don't know who I'd believe, Mitsubishi, or some unknown individual on the internet who has written a guide who didn't bother to read the manual...

That's a difficult one. Of course at 44Nm you weren't breaking bolts were you

And you should use a small amount of loctite on those bolts also.

That's why there's 2pages of me asking for help lol and I asked the exact question "could the torque numbers be wrong" and the answer was no. If anything, they need to be to tighter..

destinationtoby wrote:Sooo this whole time. I could of just been trying to torque them up to a setting that was wrong and therefor they snap...
Guarantee I do them up harder than 44Nm...

44Nm is f**k all.
vanadinite wrote:I did them up just as bennoz explained. and locktite isn't necessary when done correctly.

Bennoz wrote:Of the two on the left, the part with the raised inner ring (lol) faces the gearbox side. Other bit goes in behind it.
Does this look correct  ? It looks to me as though there's no way the shaft in the box will go through that plate with the raised inner ring.?
If the shaft is going into the spline does that mean I have aligned the clutch? Because it is, but not all the way.
Is there anywhere I can download the manual from ?
Or if some one could just explain what it is I'm doing.. As in, align the clutch with what? The pilot bearing (i think?) behind the flywheel. Does the shaft in the gear box only go thru the clutch ? Is there another way I could align it using the box and then removing it and tightening then re fitting ?

No it doesn't. These are an M.8. bolt correct? And they had the number 7 on the head correct? The manual clearly states 22Nm. I even gave you the page reference.

Moron
