Surprised after doing a search theres no part number for a water pump on here :!:

Went into supercheap - $92 for a Protex 'gold' water pump to suit mivec auto FTO/HJ galant
Apparently this is one up on an OEM spec (dont know if it is, dont really care if it isnt  but curious if this is actually true)

Protex gold Water pump part number PWP3007G

That pump is $84 when you do a search on the Super Cheap Auto site.

Just found the receipt for my water pump.

The brand is Endurotec

Part number: WP3007E

Cost: $65.94

Hmm interesting.
The chick behind the counter did not mention any alternatives. :shrugs:
Maybe the extra 8 dollars is a delivery fee as they had to order it in?
If indeed this water pump is one up on OEM/endurotec i spose that justifies the extra 30 bucks for me but i still think theyre probably the same.

Seems the 3007 is a universal reference to the water pump - so i wonnder what happens if i google that number - how many brands would come up? :hmm:

Cambelt / Timing belt auto tensioner, Mitsi part MD308593, Dayco part HAT24

Just been quoted $400 from Mitsi (I'll just pluck a figure out of the air) and they don't even have stock over in WA

Yeah, but dont have an endless supply. Will check the shed tomorrow and see if I have another. Failing that, have an idea or 2 where I can locate one.

Not including postage. Quite a large part. Hate to think how much freight would cost.

I got my brand new ac compressor from Mr cool in Brisbane. The FTO uses the same compressor as a few mirages the only difference is the pulley and nose cone setup. So what they did was refurbish my pulley/clutch from my busted compressor and put them onto a brand new compressor. Works like a dream. I can get anyone who is intrested all the details.
