Guys,

I found this on the mivec forum:

http://www.mivec.co.nz/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3024

it looks like the one on the right on the picture is the one i need. the longer 25 splines on the cv cup have been made for LSD boxes.

In that case, I guess I should check them all again. I was only measuring the complete length, not the length of the spline.

well i have decided to buy another autobox from UK as i'm travelling to UK on the 27th anyway. Found one from a GR for 90 GBP including inner cv's, torque convertor and 3 months warranty. 8)

will take another 4-5 hours to swap it but at least i can finally build it together...

Not a bad idea, especially in your position.

5 hours may seem like a bit, but I guess compare that to how long it might take to atually find the right one. That LSD box is worth a bit too. Should be able to sell it for more than the other will cost you. Even if you just sell the LSD itself.

hmm well i would be willing to take the box apart and sell the LSD to anyone here. there are just a few FTO's in the netherlands.. maybe 5 or 10 and no market here to sell these parts.

Chuck it in the for sale section and see how you go. Should be worth 200 AUD$ at least.

well saturday is the day... 4 hour drive - ferry - 2 hour drive to Cambridge.. to pickup a another autobox, this time WITH inner cv's
as soon as i have the other box out i will split it and sell the LSD. shipping should't be bad.. We also have an office in Sydney (PRA International) so i could ship with some computer hardware.

just a thought but wouldn't it be easier just to haul the diff out of the new box and put the original one in it?

I'm still having trouble with getting mine sorted. The issue of cutting the shaft down to size is that your cutting the splines off therefor weakening the drive.

Hope some one can work this out as I need my car back on the road ASAP.

Hi ! i was not able to get the proper shafts for my 25 splines LSD auto-box.. so i managed to pick up a non LSD box from Uk last week. so at least i can get it on the road.. in the meantime i will try to split the original 27 splines LSD box and see if i can get the diff into the 25 splines LSD box.

If its done professionally you get it shortened and the splines recut, complete with circlip groove. If its done with a hacksaw.... :-o

the gearbox is running fine since i have changed it to a regular one now because of the drive shaft problems.
