Multiple Issues

Post by Danielk »

Hey guys

Have a 95 FTO GPX Automatic

If the car hasn't been turned on for around 3-4 hours, It won't start.. it turns fine and revs but dies straight after, the only solution to that is i have to accelerate each time it happens for about 2-3 min till it gets abit warmer then after that there are no issues.

I have changed the battery, spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump and had a minor service done.

Any ideas?

Also, when i have the air con on i get a loudish ticking noise coming from around that area, stops after about a minute or so, doesn't happen when i use the heater though.

Thanks for your help guys

First issue will be stepper motor
Second is the climate control motor to switch between outside and inside air
there's a diy on here but if you look behind your glovebox and try and find where the ticking is coming from pull the culprit out and pull it apart, there will be a broken cog... just turn it so it only uses the unbroken part and it will work again perfectly...
