inconsistent engine light +sweet smell+fuel cutting???
1.Driving back from work I noticed the engine light coming on every so often. It didn't blink a code but just came on then went away.
2.I'm smelling something sweet but it's not coolant as I didn't find a leak plus I wasn't overheating. It may possibly transmission (hence soon to convert to manual). I also checked auto fluid and seems at adequate levels and still pink.
3. This is the really weird one: I'm driving and tiptronic wont really work. As I press accelerator pedal the Rev gets to 3k or thereabouts and it seems to cut off delivery of fuel or something for a split second until ipress on the pedal harder...is this an ignition problem or is my engine on ita way out!?!?! 0_0"
I've managed to filmn on my phone what the fuel curing looks like but I have no idea how to post it up here
1. 2. 3. May be related or may be independent problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Try that.
An update: so I checked under my car last night and the smell is definitely coolant. There's a small drip coming from the back of the car from some pipe beneath the overflow box.
I found that same coolant leaking its way on to my oxygen sensor on my exhaust.
With this new info does anybody know what's up and how to fix?
Thanks again

Sounds like you're heater (radiator) hoses... That's what cost me my engine

Could possibly be your water pump too, but I'd bank on hoses.
How much coolant is in your radiator?

It isn't overheating so I'd say there's adequate amount. Good point about the sweet smell from exhaust.
It isn't coming out of any noticeable pipes besides inconsistently coming out of some weird rubber tube at the back of the engine bay. I would bet there is a link with this and the oxygen sensor. .. let's hope the engine is fine :/

That little pipe sounds like the one out the bottom of the aircon evaporator unit. Is it coming out of the firewall (not the engine)

If it's a slow leak it won't overheat till there's not enough... The leak could potentially get worse... you could blow a head gasket if it does overheat! This IS what happened to me!
Open the bloody radiator cap and check if you see coolant!

Lol schumie I shouldve said yes I have checked and the is currently enough but you're right it will leak over time.
Dstocks you're right it is out of the firewall. What is it? should it connect to somewhere?

If its the one im thinking, then its quite low on passengers side and no, shouldnt be connected to anything. Is a drainage pipe for condensation picked up by the evaporator (thats why you see water dripping out of a car sometimes). That shouldnt be dripping on the exhaust thoughas the exhaust runs down the drivers side.

Re: inconsistent engine light +sweet smell+fuel cutting???
Ah okay, then my next best guess is that the heater core has a leak for whatever reason. This explains why my cabin has a coolant smell and my windows fogging up even with the demister on...the heater core...how the hell do i fix that? and i wonder why it's leaking? I put in some stop leak in hope it'll help temporarily and so far the fuel hesitation has seemed to stop but still can't rule out whether that's an independent problem relating to spark plug or whatever....ahhh need more knowledge
