Is your FTO a 4G93?
Those cam gears are for a DOHC motor whereas yours should be SOHC.
Either way if you have no other mods then there is no need for these at all.

The tensioner, I heard that you should really only buy OEM tensioners as aftermarket ones have a high rate of failure.

Water pump, it's good to get OEM but I think there are good aftermarket ones (as well as bad of course). I don't know which are good and which are bad

I think it's the aftermarket tensioners which may cause issues not the actual timing belts.

Why would you use 4G93 cam gears in your 6A12?
Though I've heard they work, you just need to modify one of them.

I think however don't upgrade them until you need to upgrade them

All you need to do is transfer the pickup plate off the first one over to one of the new gears.

belive me here its very hard to find someone to work on it... if only seen a max of about 5 ftos in malta....2 of which are the same owner....

so im figuring that i might as well do it now since im planning to do a turbo probably and some other staff...
