Engine light on!

Post by c0n13oX »

My engine light came on after doing an auto fluid change and adjusting the idle as it was idling at around 1500 -2000. Now everytime I change between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd the car starts jolting really bad as well as the engine light being on.

any ideas?

could using too much cause this? or would have to do with the idle?

Purely out of interest, what does your idle sit at now?

Thats about where it should sit (maybe slightly lower).Anywhere from 700 to 1000 is good. WMay sit slightly higher (1500) until warmed up.

Stepper causes the engine to stall if it is stuffed. You can get new ones off Ebay for around $170 from memory. See if you can borrow a club members to ensure that is the issue first, but its a fair chance.

Whereabouts in the engine bay is the stepper motor located? (Noob question probably)
