Replacement Pads - Front Ferodo DB1223XL

Post by daddyfly »

My front brake pads are almost due for replacement and I found these on sale on ebay for $15 plus postage.

Any good or do I avoid them like a plague?

Ferodo were a pretty good brand though ... I had a mate that use to swear by them for his Silvia...

Another mate tried them, and the pad was not even 6 months old, and had actually split in half... So he swore never to use them again.

I have only ever used Red Stuff, or Bendix...
I just had to add it ......

LOL. Thanks for the feedback guys. That was my first impression in seeing the listing - $15 brake pads must be s#!t.

But I'm still a noob when it comes to parts for the FTO so I had to ask. Don't wanna do "trial and error" on brakes. :)

The last, first and only time I used Ferodo pads I experienced bad brake fade and heaps of black brake dust all over my rims.
But that was years ago on a big car, they might be better by now.
