fto none mivec missing or miss fire

Post by bartyboo »

Any advice why my none mivec 2.0v6 has a miss fire 3 mins after cold but doesnt when cold?
Hesitation to go down low like a wet plug lead then takes off, slight idle missing when at lights in drive,
And in N has a miss with a quick rev but doesnt on a slow rev,
Have replaced spark plugs, fuel filter, MAF cleaned, leads checked and injectors
cleaned apparently, does not throw a error code and ecu reset many times!
I have just ordered second hand coils and plugs of ebay but dont want keep buying stuff as a guess,
Car idle is fine in N and sits around 1000 besides the miss every 8 seconds in N and every 3 to 5 seconds
In drive when parked I get a splutter/miss, any advice would be great thanks.

I also thought coils would do it out on the highway when booting it, only has miss at idle or putting your foot down doing 20k or so then takes off, definitely like I just cleaned my engine and a lead wet

I could've sent you coils to try but ah well and nah a stuffed coil will do exactly like what you've described there

I was positive on coils until now lol I thought stepper motor the idle would be up and down or going to stall, its missing like a wet lead or plug after a hose down, like its breaking down on revs and tiny miss while idling at lights in drive or giving a quick rev, weird how slow rev is fine.
Any advice is good of course so thanks guys.

Could be TPS. Was doing that kinda thing when I was adjusting mine.

If its definitely missing and not TPS or stepper or anything then check all spark plugs including gaps, leads, coils and injectors.

Sounds like a coil to me or even a vac leak.

If you haven't been poking around the throttle body area it should be ok.

And usually badly adjusted TPS gives code.

I would check your coils first.

Original stepper is brown right, I read somewhere if its black its been replaced? It looks very good condition but I cleaned it anyway, I thought stepper will make it stall or not idle right as mine idles fine besides the miss, glad I signed up as you guys are great advice :)

Also weird how it revs fine when I dab excelerator quickly when cold, 3 to 4 mins do the same and tiny miss or stutter at the start of the quick revs, doesn't miss on a slow exceleration, not enough spark to burn fuel im quickly giving it with a quick rev maybe, anyway will reply for sure after my second hand coils and leads arrive

You sure it's missing or do the revs fluctuate weirdly?

Nah revs stay at one level, just has a tiny splutter every 3 to 5 seconds in drive at lights or a bit less in park or N.. if I stomp on it down low it misses badly and hesitates and trys to go then it does, slowly ad exceleration its fine, only other thing I was trying to go slowly other day to 20 to 30k and it was like I was take my foot on and off the pedal slowly
