Temp gauge not working

Post by mr_andersen »

Hey guys,

The other day I noticed my temp gauge wasn't working. It just stays on C.

What's the likely problem? Broken dash temp sensor MD091056?

Could it be something else? I did just disconnect the battery to clean the terminals and I'm pretty sure it was working before that. Everything else is working. All the fuses are good.

Cheers.

Yep most likely dash side coolant temp sensor. There is also another one that goes to the ECU (seperate) if that doesn't fix it but should be guage side one.
I fix cars.

The wire has probably just come off the sender in the engine bay.. especially if you've just fiddled with the battery.

If it stopped working after you fiddled with something, it's going to be something you fiddled with!

I did try pulling the plug off and putting back on before I posted but it didn't work. I tried again today and now it works. Maybe the wire is dodgey. Hopefully it stays fixed.
