Brakes

Post by Daniel2019 »

Hey,

Swapped out my crappy second hand front calipers for my rebuilt ones today, all went good with the fronts, bled fine, has plenty of stopping power through fronts etc..

But!

My braking bias is now 92% front and 8% rear after bleeding all four. They were definitely bled properly and I bled them twice, still can't get any pedal feel or braking to the rear. I'm thinking I may have fucked a seal when I bled them but am unsure. Handbrake is working fine.

Had to engine brake and handbrake the whole way home

Any ideas? I was just going to chuck a rebuilt kit through the rear but if anyone else has ideas...
I fix cars.

Engine brake? handbrake? thought rears were issue?

Did you read the workshop manual?

I sort of remember that the rears had a bit of a trick to them.

Yup, rears are a little tricky to rebuild. Will be uploading the DIY guide when I get back to Aus next month.

Tricky to bleed rears? I will have a look when I get home. I only touched the front brakes but bled all 4.

Yeah Tim, was worried I had a leak somewhere so was trying not to use brakes.
