Version R spring rates?

Post by Herron »

Does any one know the version R spring rates? or a close estimate to what they would be?
I can't find anything on them.

You didn't look very hard
Bennoz wrote:You can have springs made relatively cheaply. All you need is an old spring, the height you require & a spring rate. Standard is 2.6kg/m front & 1.6kg/m rears. Try companies like Eibach - their springs are cold rolled too, superb construction.

So both a GPX and a GPvR have the same spring rate then?

Pretty sure they do. What do you need the info for? If they are different then it wouldn't be by all that much.

I'm guessing that the only variation would be the Nakaya tune which had Ohlins shocks, so that would be likely to have slightly different spring rates possibly, but I'm not 100% sure.

Didn't the vR come out with Tein Coilovers... That were usually removed when compliance got done?

So spring rate could actually be different.. Maybe a little stiffer..
I just had to add it ......

Where'd you hear that? I've never heard that before

Interesting if they did.. if they did get pulled out for compliance then they should be given to whoever bought/imported the car.

Nah, didn't come with Teins. But they did come with uprated shocks and springs. Different part numbers to the GPX/GR variants.

If you can wait 5 days I'll tell you exact specs from the actual booklet.

There we go then. Either way, just get adjustable coilovers and go softest setting for street use.

Had a set of Cusco's before. Loved them. Delivered pizza in my FTO that had them actually.

Couple of the guys love the BCs as well, and Teins are pretty popular too.

Dwayne's came with Tein HA's. Not the coilovers, the shock / spring combo that ended up in my car for years. Recently binned.
