~Need help ASAP with my FTO~

Post by MustieGPX »

Hey guys, I need a hand figuring out a problem I've been having with my FTO.

Mitsubishi FTO GPX 99' DE3A

( Mechanics have told me it's a number of problems regarding either the Fuel pump / throttle body or air flow from the exhaust? )

Example of problem;
Let's say I'm at a red light ( complete stop ) as it goes green and I accelerate, the car ONLY when it's on a very low tank of fuel, it'll sorta jump / pull back. It's hard to explain but it'll just slightly jump and then pull back, then it'll go normally after a few seconds of accelerating, it'll keep happening each time I come to a complete stop. If I turn the car off and back on, the problem wont happen for a solid 5mins +
Can anyone please help? I've spent heaps on changing parts that mechanics have told me and it still hasn't been fixed.
Thinking its the fuel pump.. Any ideas?

Also, obviously if you have low fuel it will make it difficult for it to get it to your engine.. how low are we talking here? When you take off, the minimal amount of fuel will obviously tip towards the back of the tank..

Under 10 litres it'll trigger it.

I had something that sounds like this problem which was fixed with a couple of flushes of injector cleaner in the fuel tank
