Blower motor?

Post by Moused »

I've had some issues recently with loss of cool air from the AC -
Turns out a pipe going into the firewall leaked out all the refrigerant...

I was looking into getting this fixed up, now I've seemingly got issues with the blower motor.

Simply, no air comes out of the vents if I turn it on. No noise, either.

Where would be a good starting point? Also if it comes to me having to replace the motor... How would I go about it exactly?
Hoping for something simple like taking the center of the dash out, rather than the whole thing... :pale:

Its an absolute bugger to get out im afraid. Havent heard of one of those going before though. Id be checking the climate control unit. I know they can have circuit board issues and that could cause the blower motor to cease working.

Still have that aircon pipe here too. I was supposed to be boxing that up wasnt I. Do you still need it?

    I sure as hell do...

I'll leave it for the time being until I suss out this blower issue, just in case I need to get yet more parts from you

Climate control unit gone would be a blessing right now. How would I go about testing it?

Easiest way would be to try a different one. Not sure how to actually test the unit itself. Im happy enough to send one for you to test with and you can send back if you dont need it. You should be able to test the blower motor though. unclip the plug and apply power directly from a jump charger or battery. Or even better, use a multimeter on the wires coming from the climate control. No power when on means no issue with the blower.

Yep, sounds like a good starting point... I'll try get that sorted in the next couple days - finding time is the damn issue.
Here's to hoping it's the climate control.. Thanks Dwayne 8)

Dirty/rusted/loose harness connection to the blower?
Something caught in the blower blades?

Welp, I've occasionally been trying to turn the fans on (when it gets stupidly hot...)

        Randomly started working again
Seems likely to be a loose connector or the like... I might leave it be until something crops up again.

Now my focus can go back to fixing the AC :|

I'll throw you some cash for that unit, Dwayne. It feels stupid to pay to part with it.
