Gauges not working

Post by Spike28278 »

So i upgraded my gauges to the Moman gauge face yesterday, but me being the idiot that i am forgot to mark where the gauges originally lined up.

But my issue at the moment is my tachometer isn't reading anything at all, it just sits at zero, my speedometer reads but not smoothly, it'll jump from 10 to 30 then 60km/h

i believe my coolant temp gauge and fuel gauge are working fine. also my clock and volt are working fine as well

If you pulled the needles off then odds on you have buggered the gauges, You should be slipping dial faces over the needles, not removing them. There have been a number of people in the past that have buggered their gauges doing this. If you havent done this, then ignore this post.

Problem is the new gauges don't have a hole big enough to slip over the needles, so i needed to remove them. And i cant drill new holes otherwise they'll stop working.

but i don't see how to could be a problem, I've do the same to a 300zx and the needles worked fine after replacing them

There are past posts that explain why. I cant tell you off the top of my head, but dont rule it out as it may well be the problem.
