Dodgy alarm and Fob

Post by Repugnance »

Hi I'm new here and not very great with cars!
I currently own a Mitsubishi FTO 1995 Manual.
I'm currently having a issue with my alarm/Fob.

So my car alarm is going off all the time at the moment.
It will go off all day very quietly.
But instant I beep my car with the fob to unlock my car and it starts going off and won't stop until I put my key into the ignition and start the car.
My alarm will stop going off all together and I'm able to drive my car without an issue!
But instant I turn my car off and pull out the key it will start going off until I lock it with the fob and it will go off loudly for like a second then it will go back to playing quietly.
I have tried shutting all my doors again bonnet and boot aswell.
To include in my issue I brought new batteries yesterday and my fob worked perfectly but still had the same
Issue but this morning my fob wasn't working well and took 6 times to get the button to work. And it seems that it's quiet flat aswell even though I got new batteries.
My car battery light shows the lights green.

Is there anything else I can try before taking it into the shop?

I have called Mitsubishi and been told it will cost me $150 an hour to just look at my car.
Any idea how much it would cost to remove or get new alarm/mobilizer system for my car
Can anyone give me ideas on how much that would cost if I did either of those?

FTOs didn't come with factory alarms, it would be an after market device. Your best bet is to take it to an auto electrician don't take it to Mitsubishi.
LED ALL the things.
