Engine shutting down

Hey dudes and dudettes!
(Though let's face it. 90% of people on here are male, 9% pretending to be female, and 1% actual women :(D): )

I drive my car, it drives fine until it warms up, and then when I slow down and the revs drop really low, such as when I slow down to stop at a traffic light, or if I'm actually stopped, the engine just turns off.

If I slow it down, and somehow keep revving it, it doesn't die, unless I stop revving while slow or stationary and it dies again - not when cold, but once it's warmed up and it happens once, it happens everytime I slow or stop.

Most of the times I can just start her up again, but other times I'll be in the middle of the road and it'll cut out, I'll turn on the ignition and now the battery will be only on a few volts, and it won't start for like 20 minutes, after which if I try it will start back up again - once the engine has had a chance to cool down.

Any ideas what this could be?

Also - I don't know if this related, but whenever I now turn it on, the AC automatically turns itself on as well (it's never done this before, except when I now have this problem).

Please help :(

PS - Is it my stepper motor?

Battery
Or clamps come loose enough and reset your ecu and it needs to relearn to idle again

Thanks so much for your response brother

I tried starting it and the battery is fine initially so hadn't thought it, but I will check it - clamps, thanks will check that also.

Just so I know - what would rule out the stepper motor or cleaning throttle body?

Shouldnt stall while going if its the battery as once started, the alternator would keep it going even if the battery was dead.

My money is on the stepper motor.

The AC always starting is probably a fuse, it forgets what it was set to last time if it doesn't get constant power and defaults to 25 degrees, auto.

Beautiful, thanks lads - I'll update this thread once I've checked the battery, stepper motor and fuses.
