Changed stepper motor, now won't start

Post by bjk »

So car has been unhappy. Sounds rough, idle will hunt between 600-800 after a cold start, has been stalling when coming to a stop, or the revs drop to 500rpm before recovering.

Kiz has a spare black stepper, so I pulled off mine and put it on, and now the car will turn over, rev up and then it drops off and dies. Halp?

Have you reconnected all the plugs/looked at plugs you may have disconnected?

Is it in the correct way with the o-ring?

Only disconnected the one plug. Mike thought it might have been a missing o-ring but there was one there, just checked.

So I should just take it out for a drive again like after battery was disconnected?

Fixed, huzzah. Did need a bit of a drive. Nowhere near as long as for battery. Backed it out of the driveway and down the street and it was already not stalling but took it out for a half hour or so for good measure.
