Anyone know any mechanics that are good with fto's in melbourne area? Just got screwed over by the last one. Charged me $600 did absolutley no work to the car, told me he spent the 6 weeks he had learning about the car itself....

I have used AussieTune to get my car RWCed, and Gibson Automotive for servicing in the past.

You should mention what it is you need done as well.
In reality any decent mechanic should be able to do most things on the FTO without needing to spend 6 weeks to learn about it

Its just not idling, push the clutch in it die, turn tje key it dies, only rarely does it hold the revs but barely, IAC has been repalced, no vaccum leaks, TPS had a dead zone so replaced and set it properly, cylinder comp is fine, spark plugs are new, new leads, Checked for leaks after the Maf, timing is fine

It also seems to hunt when tje throttle cable is pulled, but it wont cut out. I took it to tje mechanic cause I was out of ideas haha [emoji14]

Alright another update on the car, and its kinda weird but anyway,

The mechanic managed to get the car to stop cutting out, but now its iding too high, he sent the MAF to get tested and it come back without any faults. Strange part is the car runs snoother without the MAF plugged in as the mechanic told me.

So now I'm thinking it may be the ECU? Cause its hunting aswell

Sounds like a vac pipe is off/split hence the high revs and hunting, how high is the idle?

Idle is about 1200rpm at operating temp, both the mechanic and I checked for vaccum leaks but Ill try again tonight

Idle should be 800 at operating temp.

Alrighty, more developments

Smoke tested again with no leaks, but now the nature of the problem has changed

Idle is hunting between 400 and 2000 rpm regardless of temp

Maf was tested last week can came back without any errors and the O2 sensor is reading between 0.1 and 1v but its strange

Seems like its chasing itself, its reading rich in low rpm and lean in high rpm

Go to a different mechanic.

I'm not a mechanic and managed to adjust my TPS by reading the manual.
