Track rod end / tie rod end - cant tighten nut up

Post by Rob Furniss »

Trying to put the castle nut back on and the whole thing (threads on the bolt thing) is spinning, is there a way to stop this or does it mean the track rod end is buggered?
The threads don't look great on it.

There's a flat spot you can put a spanner on

Thanks mate, already tried to get a spanner on but i'll have another look at it, maybe it's one with a hex bottom for an allen key like some arb drop links are, will check that too.
This is on the boys car.

A guy in the UK doing an FTO budget race car build has a video on how to do this, pretty cool video and quite comprehensive.
