did anyone ever think of a small super-charger instead of a turbo??i saw one once that ran through an electric clutch from an A/C unit that could be turned on and off with a switch on the dash. wasn't on an fto though.

Rub Furniss in the UK just finished his. Used an Eaton M45.

An air con clutch would be no where near strong enough, you'd need something heaps more industrial. Dunno why you'd bother thou, the whole point of blowing a motor is to have power from 0 up.

EDIT: Actually just read some of the Toyota blower (SC14's) have clutches built in.

the rotary one looks interesting, just like an engine driven turbo.

the clutch was so you can run with no boost if you want it off.
