Fitting RPW's conrods.
They are knocking against the baffle plate in the sump? has anyone had this issue

Just grind clearances in the baffle. Not had it in an FTO before, but had it in another engine I built.

its not skimming it. seemingly its off by quite a lot. but grind if possible if not cut?

Would lowering the sump with a thick gasket help?
Granted the sump gasket is normally a FIP silicone type so you would have to make one/have one made, just wondering if that's an option or if it's just easier to cut/grind.
It's not on that you have issues though.

The rods are forged yes? Then they will be much bigger all round.

Could also move the baffle completely, they're only spot welded in, just drill it out & relocate, weld up holes, respot weld baffle in place.

That was gonna be my suggestion. If you try to drop the sump by any distance you wil probably get into the territory of it fouling something else.

The cams they supplied me had such big lobes that they hit the rocker arms...

I actually ended up putting spacers on the baffle lowering it into the sump and bending the edges a little to fit.
