KIZ's Turbo Build

Post by kiz »

So I was going to wait for this to be completed 100% before I made any mention of this however it's going ahead much quicker than expected and I'm getting pretty excited so here we are.

Now as we all know Sahin put up his turbo kit for sale awhile ago and myself, with money on hand ready to commit to a turbo project of my own decided to purchase this off of Shane-o almost as soon as I saw it. He was sworn to secrecy because well, I wanted it to remain a secret.

Now we've seen a few turbo builds now, but they are all very special to the people who did them. This isn't the first time that part of this kit has been utilised and many of you will remember when it initially went up for sale. Now Sahin has added a few things to the kit (some lovely additions I might add) that were originally intended for utilization on his own car. With all this having come into my hands I have also made changes again and added some extra things and made a few changes to my own car to better prepare for this undertaking.

So this is a continuation of the kit, and what would have been Sahin's project, now continued in my hands... on my own car.

Huge thanks to Tim (VipFTO) for the hours he has put in so far teaching me stuff and helping achieve the mechanical things that I've never done before, as well as for answering my questions, some of which may have had obvious answers, even if he did have to answer them a few times to clear up confusion.

Hopefully only a few weeks, assuming no problems and the tuner can fit me in easily

A few weeks you say! What sort of favors did you have to pay Tim to work in summer?

Well it's an accumulation of things, but I think it also has a lot to do with the fact I'm willing to get in there and do sh*t myself as well

Haha yea it's definitely been a lot of that. A lot more modification as opposed to routine maintenance.

So received some unfortunate news which will postpone my project for a number of weeks now. My ECU has been delayed in Japan due to heavy snowfall and apparently they are "too busy preparing local orders". So this won't be expected for at least 4 weeks now. Still waiting on fuel rail adaptors to come. Getting impatient but will be worth it

Alas, poor Turbo! I knew him, Millero; a fellow of infinite boost, of most excellent acceleration; he did press me into the back of my seat a thousand times; and now, how something-something-shake-a-spear! My PSI rises at it. Here hung that snail that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your torque steer now? Your lag? Your peaks? Your flashes of second gear drops, that were wont to set the tyres alight?

Nah, it's my day off and I have too much time to kill.

But more importantly, did you appreciate the finesse of my parody?
