Only one block if it's a deli cheese.

And so it begins....

Rowan freighted the engine from up here in Broome down to RPW in Perth last week and they have it now so will be starting work rebuilding it soon.
They've already started work on the 2nd hand heads (courtesy of Mr Stocks) by Acid bathing them and will be doing some minor porting on them but not too much as the main gains will be from turning the boost up.

Forged Pistons have arrived and being sent for HPC coating soon, forged conrods are in too.
He's also fitting HKS profile cams
New valve springs

It's really nice to see a 6A12 get the full treatment, but with the 4G63....

Will you be posting pics please?

What was the weight of the 6A12 engine, when you send it down here?

No idea, he told them 120kg for the block plus a 40kg box that we strapped onto the pallet too which had the 'bits'.
But this was excluding heads as they came over from Dwayne (Rowans were knackered).
We probably over-quoted the weight, it only cost $350 though which he thought wasn't too bad.
He first told them 120kg plus dimensions and got the price and then phoned them back to add the box on and the price didn't increase as it was based on the dimensions which didn't change.

Yes it got there ok thanks Dwayne, i'm not sure if they've checked them for straightness and hardness yet but they generally do a very light grind on them too (I think that's the term) .

Got an LSD coming from flateric in the Netherlands, should go well with the manual conversion and Fidanza lightweight flywheel that's going in, not sure what else he should replace inside the box though while we are at it.

Not to rain on the parade, but I was under the impression an LSD from an auto box would not suit a manual one? Might be worth checking with Ben, but I did find this comment of his on another thread.

Oh dear, I hope that's not the case as it would have to go in my car instead ;)

Also to add to the problems the driveshaft inners from Rows car are 27 spline (just counted), and the inners/cups that were still in the manual box that he got are also 27 spline. I thought 25's were more common.
And the LSD that's coming from Eric is 25 spline.

Any way I can find out about mine (like a list of box numbers) without pulling the shafts out?

    12.5K

    I know, it's a lot of cash.

Forged pistons (a little oversize but not max)
    Forged conrods
Performance camshafts - normal on the low lobe and HKS 272/300 on the mivec lobe
    Vernier cam gears
HPC coating (not sure exactly what this is but some kind of protection)
    Valve springs
    ARP bolts
    Fidanza flywheel

Crank regrind, new bearings for everything internal (thrust bearings, conrod bearings, main bearings.
Rebore of cylinders, honing of cylinders.
    A bit of head work.
I think everything inside has been replaced, core plugs etc
