After a full manual conversion for my '97 GX

Post by ninja_m00se »

Hi all, I'm very new to these forums, so go easy on me!

I own a 1997 FTO GX, non aero series, non mivec.
Currently it has the stock standard 5spd tiptronic in it from factory, odo reading 107000 ks.

I'm turning it into my project car and was wanting to know if anyone knew where to get a full gearbox in as best condition as we can find, and one that comes with everything, from the box itself to cables, pedal assemblies, slave cylinders, etc. Not looking to break the bank but I understand shipping might be the bulk of it.

If anyone knows of anything or has a contact in nz preferably Waikato area please let me know!

Cheers!

Manual conversion

These day it'd be just as easy to find a written off car, or one with a blown motor. Buy the whole thing, strip out what you need & scrap the rest. Otherwise, you'll be looking for gearboxes from wreckers & they sit around the $700 mark without any of the other bits. Also, spoken to the guys at Kempys? They might have some bits: http://kempys.co.nz/contact/
