New in Sydney!

Post by icelus »

hello all! I recently got a silver 95 gpx from my brother in brisbane.

had to get rid of the rust on the roof for the blue slips and the rain gets in a bit cause the seal of the window is sorta bare. otherwise, the car is looking great! met up with rock_it to puck up a strut bar, but couldnt get it on cause the nuts couldnt come off on one side.

i am looking to get the roof of my car done up, maybe get the rubber seal changed and do up the in car entertainment system.

hope i can learn a couple of things from you guys!

Welcome to the club mate ... "officially" ...

Good little catch up last night, and spwein we couldn't get the bloody strut bolts off on that one side... Rattle gun should get it off quite easily, possibly even a breaker bar ...

But if you get stuck, just go to any mechanical shop, and get em to whip em off for ya... They can then put the brace on... No more than a five minute job ... So should be a cheap job ...

Other than that, keep an eye out for DIY days ... and the annual bonfire... :)
I just had to add it ......

yeah, its quite stubborn. a mate of mine has a sliding t-bar and even he couldnt get that one nut off.

by the way, any of you happen to know of anyone who does a good job at vinyl wrapping the roof of my car? the roof looks kinda weird after the de-rusting job

As Shane-o said, six point socket should work. That's what I've been using on all the old dodgy nuts and bolts on the falcon and no casualties as of yet. I have a big five foot cheat bar too so we might be able to get it.

Got it.

Quick squirt of WD40 and a six point socket got it... only needed my small cheat bar.
