Hello from Germany

Post by Hannes »

Hi guys.
My name is Hannes and I am from Germany. ( german forums are a bit dusty )
Im 24 and currently studying mechanical engineering.

After beeing a forum lurker for quite some time I decided to register and show off my collection :)

Image

I bought the left(1995 GPX manual ) and right ( COTY automatic ) one for a bargain last autumn and the middle one was my first FTO that I bought and also my daily ( summertime ).

It was quite a journey to get it registered in Germany, but it was well worth it.

Next step is to use the red FTO as a donor to get the yellow COTY back on the road. ( maybe with MT ) Both are running, but again lots of rust and worn out pieces
First goal is to get my FTO ready for the season ( I got a hole in my drivers footwell that needs attention and some other small pieces I need to fix )

Also im looking into turbo-/supercharging my FTO ( read through all the threads )
Edit: Im also getting new rims and a new steering wheel

Three of them!. The COTY is well worth rescuing. Your original FTO looks nice too.

Didnt know Germany had a forum....

Seems as though a lot of the European clubs have copped a hit or dried up entirely. We have had a steady stream or new members from Europe over the past year or so. We've now got 2 forums, this one and one on facebook. Not sure splitting the membership is a good move, but then im possibly just a bit of a dinosaur.

Anyway, the more the merrier.... and keep up the good work!

Nope, this forum is infinitely better. Facebook just gets filled with crap and isn't archived properly. This format will always be better for information reference. Although nobody uses the search function anyway

Are the FTOs in RHD or LHD configuration?
