what does the theft part cover?

if car gets stolen do they pay out the value of the car?
i relies most say they dont cover damage from attempt of robbery. so does this mean that if car is stolen and found again like 6 months later they dont pay out??
i tried calling gio but couldn't be bothered waiting. waited ages and gave up.

Depends what options you take. If you get covered for "fire and theft" you get covered if somebody steals it and burns it out, etc.

Depending on your situation, you should be looking at full comprehensive. But be prepared to pay up to and above $2,000 per annum, but the cost is worth the peace of mind.
